A Rebrand!
Introducing Lonely Angeleno.
Good morning and happy Friday from rainy Los Angeles. As you probably noticed, this publication has a new look, a new name, and a refined mission: to cultivate community, creativity, and connection in Los Angeles and beyond.
If the title concerns you, don’t worry, I have lots of friends. But anyone who lives in Los Angeles knows how lonely and isolating it can feel, even when your social calendar is full. And we all know loneliness is rampant under late-stage capitalism. Connecting with each other isn’t just fun, it’s essential for our survival.
I also wanted to root my newsletter locally to more effectively share content, resources, and events that are relevant to my readers. But don’t worry if you are in another city, or even in a more rural area: there is plenty for you here.
While I have enjoyed sharing my writing with you, I have not given my publication the attention it really deserves to have the impact I want. I’ve treated it like a side project, posting when I feel inspired. That changes now.
So what can you expect from this newsletter going forward? I’m so glad you asked. Lonely Angeleno will still feature personal essays from my unique perspective on Los Angeles and life, as well as lists and links you actually want, Q+A’s with friends who are changing the world for the better, voice notes to make you snort-laugh, and monthly photo essays. Posts will be sent out 2-3 times a week.
My intention with Lonely Angeleno is to make you laugh, feel seen and connected, and be in community with other folks living creative and engaged lives. Thank you for being here and being you.
